Location
I wanted something close to my house and where I do most of my photoshoots. The reason we live in Lakewood, Colorado is that it’s central and not too expensive. So I found a Denver photo studio in Lakewood which is really close to Golden, Colorado, Arvada, Evergreen and so on. This photoshoot was part of Magdalena Images Denver senior photos.
Size of space
I wanted to make sure that the photo studio had enough length so that I could use a prime lens without always relying on a zoom. Test out your lenses in the new space to make sure they work! Watch out for height! This is why the new studio is higher and does not have finished drop down ceilings
Lighting
Everyone wants north facing windows so this is ideal. BUT, and learned this the hard way, keep in mind that in the afternoons, Colorado has harsh lighting through west facing windows, so you will have to cover them for afternoon photoshoots. Because of this, the new studio has fewer windows #Denverphotostudio, #Coloradophotostudio, #Lakewoodphotostudio
Dance photos!
Again, watch out for height, if your dancer jumps, you will have to have enough height or will spend too much time editing photos. Denver ballerina photoshoot by Magdalena Images.
